The last few weeks we have been learning about fire safety.  We talked about getting out of the house if we smelled smoke, feeling the door to make sure it wasn't hot (fires on the other side try the window!), never go back inside, never hide, the firefighters and the mask.
The children's favorite part was the mask. They were most excited to see it when the firefighters came for the visit. They insisted on seeing it and were even able to try it on!!  We talked about the noises the mask makes when the firefighters are wearing it and to not be afraid; to yell and let them know where you are if you are in a smokey room.
We also learned about stop, drop and roll and never run if your clothes catch on fire.

Just a reminder, please check the batteries in your smoke detector!
If you don't have one the fire station occasionally gives them out.
